How does it work?

When a freelancer has a verified profile at YoungOnes, they receive an email from Onsi with instructions on how to create an account. With an account, the freelancer can view all the details about the insurances and policies, and can also submit a claim through this portal. Without an account, the freelancer is always insured, but an account is necessary if they need to submit a claim.

Submitting a claim

To submit a claim, the freelancer simply logs into the portal, selects the relevant benefit and follows the steps outlined by Onsi. Once the claim is submitted, it will be evaluated. This includes reviewing the policy terms and the evidence provided. If the claims’ handler has additional questions, they will get in touch, and in the meantime, the freelancer will receive a status update on the claim every two weeks. Once the claim is approved, the money will be transferred within five working days.

Discounts

In addition to insurance, Onsi also offers a wide range of discounts on major brands to help freelancers with the high cost of living. Freelancers enjoy unlimited discounts at brands such as Apple, Adidas, Spotify, and Shell.

During my job, I accidentally dropped a television on my foot. Fortunately, my insurance not only covered the medical expenses but also the costs for a physiotherapist and the damage claim. Additionally, I immediately took advantage of one of the discounts to buy steel toecap shoes.

When I got injured during a job, my insurance was a lifesaver. All medical costs were covered, including treatments with a psychologist for my recovery. This helped me through a difficult time.

During a job in the hospitality industry, I accidentally spilled a glass of drink over the cash register. Thankfully, my insurance covered all the costs for the damages.

Can I submit a claim as a client?

Yes, you can. Although you as a client are not insured through Onsi, you can still submit a claim if a freelancer hired through YoungOnes has caused damage. You can do so via this link.

What to do when a claim is rejected?

If your claim has been denied, it means that you either submitted a claim that is not covered by the policy or does not meet the required criteria.

If you believe a mistake has been made or if you want clarification on why your claim was denied, please feel free to contact Onsi.

What is the status of my claim?

Once you submit your claim, you can expect to be contacted by a handler within a few working days.

Once they have verified you have provided all the correct information and documents, it takes approximately ten working days to assess a claim. In more complex cases, this may take longer. Onsi will inform you of the outcome in either case, so please keep an eye on your emails.

If your claim is approved, you will receive the payment within five working days. If you have any questions about your claim in the meantime, please feel free to contact Onsi.
