Cancellations and substitutes
Freelancing is all about flexibility, and at YoungOnes, we’re dedicated to help you thrive in a dynamic work environment. Whether you’re planning your schedule or are adapting to unexpected emergencies, we’ve got you covered. With clear policies in place for cancellations, substitutes, and attendance, you can handle changes to your schedule with confidence while you stay reliable and professional.
Cancellation Policy: Navigating Changes with Ease
Life happens, and sometimes plans change. At YoungOnes, both freelancers and clients have the option to cancel a gig without any consequences, provided the cancellation occurs within the designated period. This period is determined by the client and is clearly stated in the gig description. It can range from 24 hours to two weeks. If you find yourself unable to commit to a gig, ensure you cancel within this timeframe to avoid any repercussions.
Why It’s Important to Arrange a Substitute
Are you unable to attend a gig, but the cancellation period has ended? Then it’s your responsibility to arrange a suitable substitute. This allows clients to keep running things smoothly while they maintain the trust that freelancers like you have built on the platform. You can arrange a substitute through the YoungOnes app. This will trigger the gig to be reposted for other freelancers to respond. Once the responses are in, you can select a suitable substitute directly through the app.
Building Strong Client Relationships
Reliability is a cornerstone of a successful freelance career. Consistently missing gigs can affect your profile on YoungOnes and make it harder to find gigs in the future. The consequences escalate with each uncompleted gig:
- 1st time = Official warning
- 2nd time = Cannot react to new gigs for 2 weeks
- 3rd time = Cannot react to new gigs for 1 month
- 4th time = Cannot react to new gigs for 3 months
These measures are in place to ensure commitment and reliability across the platform.
What to Do When a Client Cancels Your Gig
If a client cancels after the cancellation period has ended but before the gig begins, you have the option to accept a substitute gig or claim 50% of the agreed hours. If the client ends the gig early after you’ve started working, you’re entitled to 100% of the agreed hours. Make sure to get a written confirmation from the client in any of these situations.
Resolving False Attendance Claims
At YoungOnes we value transparency and fairness. If a client incorrectly marked you as absent, it’s important to address the issue quickly. Reach out to YoungOnes UK support and provide any relevant evidence or communication to support your case. Our team will thoroughly review the situation and correct any mistakes to keep ratings on your profile accurate.
We believe clear communication and fair policies pave the way for success. Stay informed and committed, so you can enjoy the flexibility of freelancing while you build strong, lasting relationships with clients.
